Hancock joins KSP after completion of Training Academy

Kentucky State Police Post 2 will have a familiar face to Hopkinsville residents, as Tyler Hancock recently graduated the 104th KSP Training Academy. 

Hancock has served nearly a decade with the Hopkinsville Police Department as both an officer and as a public safety officer.  KSP Post 2 Captain Derek Smith is excited welcomed Hancock to Madisonville, saying, “Trooper Hancock is beginning a rewarding career, and it will be an honor to serve alongside him. I commend him for his achievements during the academy training and look forward to his successes as he begins his journey with the Thin Gray Line.”

The graduates of Cadet Class 104 received more than 1,000 hours of classroom and field study in subjects such as constitutional law, juvenile and traffic law, use of force, weapons training, defensive tactics, first aid, high speed vehicle pursuit, criminal investigation, computer literacy, hostage negotiations, evidence collection and much more.
