A Crofton woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Madisonville Road early Friday morning.Â
First responders were called to the 5900 block of Madisonville Road around 1 a.m. for reports a crash involving a single vehicle and upon arrival, located the vehicle off of the roadway and against a tree.
The driver of the vehicle—22-year-old Katie Shelton of Crofton—was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Christian County Coroner.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Department investigated and reportedly determined that the vehicle had been northbound on Madisonville Road when it left the road for an unknown reason, jumping a ditch and colliding with the tree on the driver’s side, causing extensive damage.
