CCHS student takes third place in 1st Congressional District 2024 Art Competition

A Christian County High School student has been chosen as a winner in the Kentucky 1st Congressional District 2024 Congressional Art Competition. 

In a news release from Congressman James Comer’s Office, Christian County High School student Elena Pruett took third place in the competition for her piece “Derby Finish Line”. Her artwork will be on display in Congressman Comer’s Kentucky office. 

Second place went to Union County High School student Rachel Greenwell for her piece “Blue Collar Bluegrass” and first place was Metcalfe County High School student Elyda Hicks for her work, “Where Hope Began” and it will hang in the U.S. Capitol.

Congressman Comer says, “Every year I am impressed by the artwork submitted by high school students from across Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District. My office received some incredible pieces of art this year and I want to congratulate Elyda, Rachel, and Elena on being selected as this year’s winners. I am excited to display this artwork in the U.S. Capitol building and my offices in both Washington and Tompkinsville.”
