With only two nights left to go, the 74th annual Hopkinsville Rotary Radio Auction saw a big night Thursday, breaking $300,000 in funds raised so far.
The overall total following four auction nights currently sits at $321,024.75 with the action set to continue tonight from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and then on Saturday from 6 p.m. until all auction items are sold. It’s all in the name of raising money to support the Rotary Scholars program and local youth in numerous ways, with Auction Chair Kelly Gates saying they’re driven and committed to doing all the can to support students in all stages of education.
Plenty of items remain up for grabs, including Big Board items, so Gates encourages citizens to bid high and bid often for a good cause.
The Rotary Club received a large donation from the Brice Long Back-2-Back Foundation, and awarded a $15,000 grant to the Court Appointed Special Advocates—or CASA—of Christian County.
You can listen to the auction live on the radio at 98.7 Lite FM WHOP or you can watch the auction on the Hopkinsville Rotary Club Facebook page and website. Or, even better, you can watch in person at the War Memorial Building in downtown Hopkinsville.
