Local police arrest Hopkinsville man for assault, resisting arrest

Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 24-year-old Jamarcus McGregor of Hopkinsville after responding to a disturbance on Monday night.

According to a report, officers were called to a residence on Charlie Court for a man who was allegedly banging on the door and threatening to burn down the apartment. Once at the scene, officer’s reportedly located McGregor at an apartment building across the street from the residence they responded to.

When officers approached McGregor he reportedly ignored their orders and walked into an apartment. At the apartment officers attempted to detain McGregor, but he reportedly attempted fleeing through the home.

Once detained, McGregor reportedly headbutted an officer and was resisting arrest and it took three officers to place him in the back of a police cruiser.

McGregor was charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree fleeing or evading police and menacing.
