A man was severely injured in an incident on Walnut Street Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department report, it happened in a lot in the 900 block of Walnut Street around 11:50 a.m. The details weren’t immediately clear due to the victim—82-year-old James Rager of Hopkinsville—being unable to speak with first responders at the time due to the severity of his injuries.
A witness at the scene told officers she saw the victim thrown from a single car that continued on its own, circling the parking lot before coming to a stop against a fence.
Rager was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.
