Austin Knight resigns as Hopkinsville High Head Golf Coach

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (March 20, 2024). Hopkinsville High School Athletic Director Blake Leach, has
announced Austin Knight has stepped down from his position as head coach of the Tiger golf team.
Coach Knight has led the Tigers for the past three years.

“When a new chapter is beginning, some things have to be let go. I am getting married this summer and
my family is moving to a different city. This is one of those things that is tough for me to let go,” said
HHS Coach Knight. “The fact I was able to come back home after college and coach the program that
impacted my life greatly is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. The players I was able to coach
and impact have succeeded beyond anything I could’ve ever dreamed up, and I hope I had a small part
of that for them. I want to thank Blake Leach, Jonathan King, and the entire HHS family for allowing me
to lead this program for the 3 years I was here.”

“Hopkinsville High is very grateful for the time, work and coaching that Austin has done for the Boys
Golf program,” said AD Leach. “Our players have shown tremendous growth under Coach Knight. We
were very fortunate to have him back leading the program these past three years. We wish him best of
luck in his future endeavors.”

Hopkinsville High School will begin the search for a new head coach to lead the golf program in the
coming weeks.
