Board of Education announces three finalists for commissioner

The Kentucky Board of Education has recently named three finalists in its search for the next education commissioner, Buddy Berry, Robbie Fletcher and Jim Flynn are all in consideration to take on the role that has been vacant since Jason Glass stepped down last September.

Berry serves as the superintendent of the Eminence Independent School District, a position he has held since 2010. Berry started his teaching career as a high school mathematics teacher in Owen County and Jefferson County.  

Fletcher serves as the superintendent of the Lawrence County School District, a position he has held since July 2014. Before serving as superintendent, Fletcher served as a part-time faculty member at Asbury University.  

Flynn serves as the executive director of the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents, a position he has held since 2019. Flynn served as the superintendent of Simpson County Schools from 2003 to 2019.
