Russellville man killed in U.S. 68 Bypass collision

A Russellville man was killed in a collision on U.S. 68 in Logan County Thursday morning.

According to Kentucky State Police, the crash happened around 6 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of U.S. 68 Bypass and Highland Lick Road.  Preliminary investigation determined that a box truck operated by 32-year-old Cody Smith of Russellville was heading north through the intersection at the same moment another vehicle was heading west through the intersection. 

The two collided and the driver of the passenger car, 64-year-old Rodger Wright of Russellville was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Logan County Coroner.

Smith was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. 

KSP was assisted at the scene by the Russellville Police Department, Logan County Sherriff’s Office, Russellville Fire Department, Logan County Coroner’s Office and Logan County EMS.
