After the Christian County School Board approved the establishment of a district website to highlight student activities and athletics, District Athletic Director Kerry Stovall appeared on WHOP recently to share what led him to wanting to create the website and what it will include.
At their Board meeting on February 15, Stovall shared that his daughter was a swimmer in the district, but her sport did not get much coverage, so the website would spotlight all sports as well as student clubs and career pathways. Stovall says he has been wanting to create this website for around three years and when it is up and running each student group from middle to high school will have it’s own page on the site.
Beyond spotlighting students, Stovall says the website would allow parents to see what their student is doing in school as well as show what opportunities are available to students in the district.
Stovall emphasizes that the website will be home to many activities that are not athletic related. He says beyond athletics some people do not know about the dedication and success of students in their clubs and organizations.
Once the website is running, athletic coaches and club advisers will be able to create posts spotlight their organization.
