It’s feeling very much like springtime weather-wise, and that continues this week with mild temperatures and a chance for some storms come Thursday.
In the weekly weather conference call on Tuesday, Forecaster Justin Gibbs with the National Weather Service in Paducah says it’s going to be lovely to start the week, with temperatures in the 60’s and plenty of sunshine, before a cold front moves through the region Wednesday night into Thursday. It could bring with it a chance for storms that include risks for hail and maybe an isolated tornado, but Gibbs says they’re not too concerned on the severe chances at the moment.
In the 8-to-14 day outlook, things continue to show signs of an early spring, with Gibbs saying that groundhog might have been right after all.
Meteorologists are keeping an eye on a more active weather pattern early next week—Gibbs says it’s too far out to have anything concrete in the way of forecasting severe weather, but it’s looking likely that somewhere in this region will have stormy weather sometime Monday through Wednesday.
