The Clarksville Police Department is investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a semi near the 8-mile marker that shut down the roadway Friday morning.
The wreck occurred around 9:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 between a passenger vehicle and a semi-tractor trailer. The Tennessee Highway Patrol was on the scene and the status of those injured was unknown, though victims were being flown to Nashville hospitals for treatment.
Motorists were able to take Exit 8 and then proceed across Rossview Road and back onto I-24 East as a detour.
