E-bike, car collision results in injuries

An electric bicycle and car collision in the intersection of Cox Mill Road and Country Club Lane resulted in possible injuries on Saturday.

According to a report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, the bicyclist, who is listed as being 13-years-old, was traveling east on Country Club Lane and attempted to turn left onto Cox Mill. At the same time, Elisha Ellis of Cadiz was travelling west on Country Club Lane and the pair collided, with the e-bike struck head-on. The impact ejected the teen from the bike.

Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Payton Rogers says the vehicle was believed have been going roughly 30 miles per hour, while the bike was estimated to have been traveling roughly 20 miles per hour.

The teen was transported to Vanderbilt Clarksville for treatment of an apparent wound to his lower leg.

Ellis and her passengers were not injured.
