Christian Fiscal Court had a full agenda at Tuesday morning’s meeting, and they provided an update on what all occurred at that meeting in a post to social media.
There were several items of new business up for consideration, and magistrates approved reimbursement in the amount of $30,000 from the Pennyrile Area Development District in relation to the ADA improvements made at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library. They also approved a resolution for the Vision Zero Safety Initiative. This traffic safety initiative aims to reduce traffic deaths, hopefully to zero, and provides a system-based approach.
Adoption of the Coal Creek Road project was approved, which will allow for the resurfacing of Coal Creek Road in Christian County, starting at KY 800 and extending approximately 6 miles.Â
In a brief update regarding GFL picking up the remaining trash cans in the unincorporated parts of the county, Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam says he has been informed by GFL officials that they are picking up trash cans this week and will continue into next week.
So if you still have a GFL branded can, or a herby-curby owned by GFL, leave it at the end of your driveway with no trash in it. It is being picked up by a third party.
Meanwhile, Impact Waste Services says they’ve delivered roughly 98 percent of new trash bins to customers, and you can still sign up for service by calling them at 270-660-8331 or going online to impactwasteservice.net. He does ask for patience, as they work to return a high volume of calls.
