Taste of the Town is coming back for its sixth year, and that means the community is invited to Founder’s Square in downtown Hopkinsville for weekend filled with local flavors, music and fun.
Taste of the Town is hosted by Vansauwa’s Tacos and Vegan Eats, and owner Desaepa Vansauwa says the festival is set for August 7 and August 8. It’s set to include around 25 food trucks and an 8k run, which is new this year, to celebrate the 8th of August.
Eighth of August marks the day that enslaved people in western Kentucky and Tennessee learned of their freedom in the 1860s. Vansauwa says the run starts at 8 a.m. at the Hopkinsville Greenway Trail’s trailhead near the public library.
The festival takes over Founder’s Square on day one from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on day two from noon to 9 p.m. More information about the festival is available at Taste of the Town on Facebook.
