Clarksville City Council has adopted a new city budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027, and it includes a nine-cent increase to the property tax.
The budget was adopted on second-reading on Thursday by a majority votes and includes total expenditures in the amount of $178 million for the fiscal year that began on July 1. This final vote also set the property tax rate for the City of Clarksville at $1.01 per $100 of assessed value, which signifies an increase of nine cents from the prior rate.
Now, the City of Clarksville will pursue matching that new budget to the City’s strategic and fiscal priorities.
Mayor Joe Pitts, “We all understand the unique fiscal challenges of population growth, but we also realize that Clarksville has increasingly assumed an urban leadership role within the state and region. With a budget adopted, we can re-focus our attention on the daily opportunities afforded us as a vital and robust City, and re-direct ourselves to meeting the inherent challenges of such distinction.”
