Christian County Middle School eighth grader and Gifted and Talented student Aria King recently won the Outstanding Junior Affiliate Award for Kentucky at last week’s National History Day’s National Contest.
The contest was hosted at the University of Maryland and invited to students from all 50 states and U.S. territories to present their history projects after advancing from the state contest. The theme of this year’s contest was “Revolution, Reaction and Reform in History.
According to the Christian County Public School System, King’s presentation was titled, “The Black Panthers: Fearless Freedom Fighters” and she competed in the Junior Individual Exhibit category.
Gifted and Talented Enrichment Specialist Dan Przybylski says being named the top junior competitor for the entire state of Kentucky at the national level is an extraordinary feat that reflects months of hard work and academic excellence.
