Evan Jacob had three hits and drove in four runs and led the visiting Hoptown Hoppers to a 12-6 Ohio Valley League baseball win over Madisonville Thursday night.
Jacob had a solo home run in the third inning, a two-run double in the fourth, and added a sacrifice fly in the sixth for his productive night.
Chance Sweeney added a two-run home run and Dom Hartman, Konnor Scheidt, and Nick Johnson each had three hits.
The offense backed the pitching of Chance Todd, who went five innings, striking out two and only allowing three hits and a pair of runs.
The Hoppers improved to 5-1 on the season while the Miners dropped to 0-6. Hoptown is back in action Friday night at home against Fulton. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m. and airtime is at 6:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
