400-Mile Yard Sale takes over U.S. 68 through Sunday

You’ve probably already seen them, with tents and tables popping up all across the area and Kentucky as a whole, as the 400-Mile Yard Sale officially gets underway.

Eager treasure hunters and bargain shoppers will be tracing their way up and down U.S. 68 in the Commonwealth, on the look out for yard sales big and small. The 400 Mile Yard Sale is an annual event that brings thousands of people to the region from across the nation, and it’s a yearly tradition for a lot of shoppers.

Organizer Tara Hall was up bright and early Thursday morning, visiting locations along the route, including in Benton, but there will be booths set up in community all over, including Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties.

Hall urges folks to get off the Bypass and get down into the communities that will welcome you with open arms—that’s where you’ll find the real treasurers, the community itself.

A map of other yard sales and events can be found online at 400mile.com and it goes from Thursday, June 4 through June 7. Motorists are reminded to use caution while out driving this weekend and to keep an eye out for slow moving vehicles or pedestrians in the roadway who are seeking out the bargains.
