University Heights Academy senior shortstop/pitcher Hayden Hunt has been selected the Region 2 Baseball Player of the Year by the region’s coaches.
Hunt enters the regional tournament hitting .505 with four home runs and 29 RBI. The Indiana State signee also has 29 stolen bases.
On the mound, Hunt has a 4-2 record with a 2.85 ERA and one save. He has struck out 60 batters and only walked 21.
Meanwhile, Christian County Head Baseball Coach Cole Isom was selected the Region 2 Baseball Coach of the Year.
Isom has led the Colonels to a 21-15 record and the District 8 Tournament championship in the final season for the program.
The Assistant Coach of the Year award went to Caldwell County’s Chance Alfred.
UHA’s AJ Hogart and Caldwell County’s Ari Wells were selected to the East/West Junior All-Star Team.
Madisonville’s Blake Prow and Alex Richards earned a spot on the East/West Sophomore Team.
