Relay for Life will take over the Hopkinsville Sportsplex in August—but before that, it will go to the dogs on June 6 in the return of their annual Bark For Life event.
Bark For Life will take place at the Hopkinsville Dog Park on Pardue Lane from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and organizer Pam Futrell says it’s always a fun time, celebrating not just human cancer survivors, but canine ones as well. Bark For Life does act as a fund raiser for Relay, as they look to help support the American Cancer Society, and through them, people right here in this community battling cancer.
They’ll have all kinds of vendors, adoption agencies, pet services and activities, drawings for prizes and a who list of contests for their doggy attendees to take part in.
Futrell says they are currently assembling teams to help raise funds during Relay for Life in August, and you can go online to sign up or just give her a call at 270-498-1778.
It’s $10 to register the first dog, and if you have multiple canines, its $5 to register each additional dog. While cats aren’t unwelcome, this might not be the event for them.
