The University Heights Academy track team found the podium three times on a rainy Thursday in the KHSAA Class 1-A State Track and Field Meet in Lexington.
The Lady Blazers’ 4×200-meter relay team of Ajae Oatts, Emma Dill, Palin Hampton, and Kendall Hancock finished fifth with a time of 1:52.02.
Meanwhile, the Lady Blazers’ 4×400-meter relay team of Dill, Oatts, Hancock, and Amoree Owen also finished fifth with a time of 4:22.78.
UHA’s girls’ team finished tied for 22nd place with 8 points.Â
Individually, Hancock ran 11th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.40. Dill took 19th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 55.78 seconds and 22nd in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.86 seconds.
Oatts finished 13th in th 100-meter dash in 13.40 seconds and 14th in the 200-meter dash in 28.01 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Blazers’ 800-meter relay team of Zech Davis, Ronan Croney-Sallie, Jude Finch, and Graham Conrad ran to an eighth-place finish with a time of 8:50.75.
Individually, Conrad took 12th in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:48.57 and Finch was 18th in the 3,200-meter run in 11:16.85.
The Blazers finished 47th as a team with one point.
Beechwood won the boys’ title with 63 points while Bishop Brossart had 41 and Middlesboro was third with 40.
In the girls’ team standings, Lexington Christian won with 126 points, followd by Beechwood (77) and Bishop Brossart (70).
