With only about three weeks before opening night for the Hoptown Hoppers, the organization announced two more players on the 2026 roster Friday morning.
Ryan McCartan, a catcher from Saginaw Valley State University, is coming off a .267 season where he had three doubles and three RBI in 18 games.
The second Hopper announced on Friday is Deklan Riggs, a left-handed pitcher and infielder from Hillsboro, Ill. Riggs played collegiately at University of Health Science and Pharm.
Riggs is coming off a spring where he hit two home runs and drove in 26 runs in 40 games. He hit .240 on the season and according to statistics from the University of Health Science and Pharm, he did not pitch for the Eutectics this spring.
The Hoppers’ season opener is scheduled for May 29 at home against the Madisonville Miners. All home games in 2026 will be played at Hopkinsville High School.
Meet the Hoppers is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on May 27 at Camo Caravan.
