Several displaced, apartments damaged in South Henderson fire

An ambulance was called to the scene of a structure fire on South Henderson Drive early Wednesday morning.

According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, firefighters from multiple fire stations were called to the 400 block of South Henderson at approximately midnight, after a caller reported that the back of her apartment was on fire. Crews arrived within minutes to find an attached utility building was actively on fire, with flames venting through the roof.

The structure contains three individual apartments and suffered moderate damage from the fire.

Occupants from the apartment were able to evacuate the structure, but an ambulance crew was called to check on an adult female patient.

Due to damage from the blaze, all tenants are current displaced and the Red Cross was called to assist those displaced.
