Bibi goes bye-bye twice, leads Lady Cols to win over Webster

Alondra “BiBi” Rodriguez hit two home runs and drove in five runs to lead host Christian County to a 15-5 softball win over Webster County Thursday night.  

Rodriguez hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the second inning to give the Lady Colonels a 7-4 lead. The homer was part of an eight-run inning that saw Christian County turn a 4-2 deficit into a 10-4 advantage. 

The sophomore struck again in the bottom of the third when she hit a two-run bomb to left field that increased the Lady Colonels’ lead to 12-4. 

Chloe Almy and Alison Grant each went 3-for-3 in the win. Grant drove in three runs. 

Alyssa Petterson earned the pitching win, going two innings with two strikeouts. Jordan Turner and Ashlyn MIller teamed with Petterson to toss a five-hitter as the Lady Colonels won for the third straight time to improve to 15-7-1 on the season. 

Christian County is scheduled to play Owensboro Catholic tonight in the two-day Catholic Classic. The Lady Colonels are scheduled to play Saturday against North Hardin and Central at Jack C. Fischer Park.
