Four University Heights Academy students are joining the ranks of Governor’s Scholars across the state.
According to UHA, 11th graders Lennon Wyatt, Hugh Sisk, Madison Williams and Niyati Patel have been selected to participate in the prestigious program, which is a highly competitive program that recognizes outstanding Kentucky students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and commitment to service.
They will participate this summer in an intensive, all-immersive 5-week learning experience on one of three Kentucky college campuses, designed to develop their intellectual, social, and civic potential.
The Governor’s Scholars program came about in 1983, out of concerns that the state’s ‘best and brightest’ were leaving the state to pursue education and career opportunities without best utilizing the resources right here at home.
