More details have been released concerning a motorcycle versus truck collision that occurred on Fort Campbell Boulevard Sunday morning.
According to the report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, a truck operated by 28-year-old Robert Ledford of Clarksville was heading northbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard in the area of I-24, traveling behind a motorcycle driven by 27-year-old Tony Thompson of Clarksville.
The motorcyclist had put on his breaks in the left lane, which is when the truck struck the back of him.
Thompson was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, but sustained several traumatic injuries—he was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.
Ledford was not injured in the collision.
