Hoptown track teams shine at Daviess County invite

The Hopkinsville High School boys’ track team finished second in the highly competitive Daviess County Invitational Saturday in Owensboro. 

Keyshun Teal led the Tigers with victories in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-mter hurdles. Teal set a personal record in the 110 with a time of 15.18 seconds. He won the 300 in 41.81 seconds. 

Hopkinsville’s 800-meter relay team also took first place with a time of 1:34.55. 

Daviess County won the boys’ meet with 139 points while the Tigers had 128.  

In the girls’ meet, Hopkinsville finished third with 95 points. Owensboro took first with 146 points, followed by Daviess County with 138. Christian County was fifth with 71 points. 

Hoptown’s Alexis Herrera-Lovato won the 800-meter run with a personal-record time of 2:27.42.
