Caldwell County rallied to defeat visiting Christian County 4-3 in a high school softball game Thursday night in Princeton.
Alexis Wood’s bases-loaded single with one out in the bottom of the seventh was the winning hit for Caldwell County.
Christian County took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning on RBI-singles by Alison Grant and Talyn Ezell.
The Lady Colonels increased their lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth as Grant doubled home Katie Smith.
However, the Lady Tigers began their comeback with a run in the bottom of the fourth and tied the game in the bottom of the fifth when an error allowed two runs to score and make it 3-3.
Alyssa Petterson suffered the pitching loss for Christian County. She went 6 1/3 innings and struck out two while not allowing a walk.
Grant led Christian County at the plate with a double and single and two RBI. Alondra Rodriguez also provided a double for Christian County.
The loss drops the Lady Colonels to 7-4-1 on the season.
Christian County is scheduled to head to Lexington today to play Taylor County and Butler County at Tates Creek High School.
