Davis dominant on mound, leads CCHS past Bombers

Christian County had no problem with Ballard Memorial as the Colonels rolled past the Bombers 12-0 in five innings Thursday in their final high school baseball game at Panama City Beach.

Junior right-handed pitcher Eddie Davis proved too dominant for the Bombers as he tossed a one-hitter and struck out 12 batters while only walking one.

The Colonels (8-7) scored a run in the bottom of the first and opened up the game with four runs in the second to push their lead to 5-0.

After a run in the third, Christian County scored six in the bottom of the fourth to take a 12-0 advantage.

Blake Boehman had a double and single and Gavin Mitchell added a pair of hits for the Colonels. Leyton Lindsey also had a double for Christian County.

The Colonels also were active on the basepaths, swiping 10 bases in the game.

Christian County is scheduled to play host to Logan County Tuesday night at 6 p.m. Airtime for that game will be at 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
