Crofton man facing numerous charges following Hopkinsville pursuit

A pursuit ended near Alumni Drive Monday afternoon with a Crofton man facing numerous charges.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department report, deputies were in the area of Clinic Drive when they reported seeing 34-year-old John Bilyeu of Crofton operating a vehicle, while having a suspended license. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, and that’s when Bilyeu reportedly failed to stop and instead fled.

While fleeing, Bilyeu was allegedly ‘all over the roadway’, almost striking at least three vehicles and driving in the middle of the road on Lafayette Road, sending other vehicles off the roadway.

The pursuit came to a stop near Alumni Avenue and Bilyeu was taken into custody without further incident. He is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, possession of synthetic drugs, operating a vehicle on a suspended license and several traffic violations.
