Oak Grove murder case on track to go to trial in April

With ballistics evidence reports in hand, both the defense and the Commonwealth can move forward in the murder case against Oziya Narcisse.

Appearing in front of Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins Wednesday morning, Narcisse was joined by defense attorney Olivia Adams and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Mark Gilbert. Gilbert informed the court of the finalized report and what it states, and that evidence has also been provided to the defense.

Adams says she can now move forward with her own plans, including the possible filing of a motion to suppress.

Judge Atkins continued proceedings out to the trial, which is set to begin in April of this year. Narcisse is facing a murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting death of Isaiah McCoy at a party in Oak Grove in 2024.
