An Oak Grove man is in custody following a shooting on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road Sunday.
According to the Oak Grove Police Department, officers responded, along with deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, to a location in the 9400 block of Pembroke-Oak Grove Road just before 11:40 a.m. for reports that a man had been shot.
Upon arrival, they made contact with the male victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. He told reportedly told officers that he and 28-year-old Hakim Bowles of Oak Grove had gotten into an argument over money, which is when Bowles allegedly shot him.
Bowles fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, but he was later located hiding near the community center in Oak Grove.
He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of first-degree assault and possession of handgun by a convicted felon.
