Caldwell County placed four players in double figures, led by Daelyn Lander’s 21 points, and the Tigers defeated host University Heights Academy 84-71 in a boys’ high school basketball game on Thursday night.
UHA led 17-14 after one quarter, but the Tigers took a 38-32 lead at the break and steadily pulled away in the second half.
Keshawn Moore had 29 points to lead the Blazers, who fell to 6-11 on the season. Jaiden Miles added 17 and Hayden Hunt had 12.
Caldwell County, which improved to 11-9, also had 18 points from Landon Mitchell.
UHA returns to action Saturday against Mayfield at Lyon County in a 6:30 p.m. tipoff.
