Kentucky’s VINE System taken offline for repairs

The Kentucky Department of Corrections announced that the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) System is temporarily offline after the service recently malfunctioned.

The VINE System is a notification system that alerts victims and concerned citizens about the custody changes of an offender. According to the department, the VINE system issued false inmate release dates on Tuesday. The system was taken offline and no notifications are being sent while it’s being fixed.

The department says the system should be back online by the end of day on Thursday.
