Hopkinsville Police arrested 31-year-old Ryan Conley of Hopkinsville after he reportedly assaulted a woman on Saturday night.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on Oak Tree Villa Drive for the assault. They made contact with victim who reportedly told officers that as she returned from her neighbor’s house, she found that her front door was locked so she entered her home through a window.
Inside the home, the victim got into an argument with Conley that turned into a physical altercation. Conley allegedly slammed the victim into the ground, choked her and punched her in the face.
The victim was able to fight Conley off, but when she tried to exit the home, he grabbed her by her hair in an attempt to keep her from leaving. Conley also reportedly smashed the victim’s phone to prevent her from calling the police. The victim had to go to a neighbor’s house to call police.
Conley was charged with second-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
