The Missoula Children’s Theatre won’t be held down by the weather, as they’ve put a performance of Hansel and Gretel, set for early February.
Auditions will take place Tuesday, February 3 at 4 p.m. at Indian Hills Elementary School as they look to field a full cast for the production. Students should arrive promptly at the start time and plan to stay for the full two-hour audition, as some cast members will be asked to remain for rehearsal immediately following auditions.
Students from kindergarten through twelfth grade are encouraged to audition, with no preparation necessary, and officials will be looking to fill the roles of Hansel, Gretel, the Witch, Mother, Father, Forest Creatures, Villagers and numerous other roles.
They’ll also choose some assistant directors to help with rehearsals and essential backstage work.
The performance will take place Saturday, February 7 at 2:30 p.m. at the Alhambra Theatre in Hopkinsville—tickets are $10, those 12-years-of age and under are $5. Those tickets can be found online on pennyroyralarts.org.
Founded in 1970, the Missoula Children’s Theatre is internationally recognized for its unique educational model, which allows local children to rehearse and perform a full musical production in just one week.
