State police investigate fatal three-vehicle wreck in Murray

The Kentucky State Police are investigating a three-vehicle collision in Murray that resulted in the life of a Mayfield woman on Sunday.

According to a report from state police, the wreck occurred as 72-year-old Janice Gream of Mayfield was traveling westbound on Radio Road attempting to cross U.S. 641. As she was attempting to cross the highway, a tow truck driven by 29-year-old Cody Mitchell of Almo was heading southbound while a sedan driven by 41-year-old Dennis Loetscher of Water Valley was heading northbound on the highway.

While crossing the intersection, Gream reportedly pulled into the path of Mitchell’s vehicle which struck the driver side of her vehicle. The collision then resulted in Mitchell’s vehicle crossing the median and striking Loetscher’s vehicle before coming to a stop off of the roadway.

Gream was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the passenger in her vehicle was airlifted to an out of state hospital for the treatment of injuries. Both Mitchell and Loetscher did not report any injuries.
