Nortonville man charged with assault, wanton endangerment

A Nortonville man is facing charges of assault and wanton endangerment after he allegedly struck a tow-truck driver with a vehicle Wednesday afternoon on East 23rd Street. 

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to East 23rd for reports of a disturbance in reference to a tow truck attempting to pick up a vehicle that was abandoned on private property.  Investigation determined that 23-year-old Trystan Gilkey of Nortonville got into an altercation with the driver. 

Gilkey got into his struck and allegedly struck the tow-trucker driver with the vehicle before fleeing the scene. 

Officers located Gilkey later at a residence on East 23rd and when they went to detain him, he reportedly became combative. 

Gilkey was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, third-degree criminal mischief and public intoxication.
