Victim in fatal, head-on collision in Clarksville identified

The victim of a fatal, head-on collision that happened on the 101st Airborne Division Parkway in Clarksville on Friday has been identified.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, the crash occurred near the Westfork Bridge around 5:45 p.m. Friday when a vehicle heading westbound crossed into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason, striking another vehicle head-on.

Forty-six-year-old Latrice Dodson, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Dodson was employed as a crossing guard with the Clarksville Police Department, serving children and their families at Kenwood Elementary School and Ringgold Elementary School.

The driver and a minor passenger in the same vehicle as Dodson were flown to Nashville hospitals, and are reported to be in stable condition. The driver in the westbound vehicle was transported to Tennova Healthcare for treatment of minor injuries.

The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
