The Hopkinsville Community College Foundation has received a grant from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, to help out students and families experiencing food insecurity.
According to a news release, the Foundation has been granted $4,300 from Food Lion through their Nourishing our Neighbors grant program. It’s designed to supporting community feeding efforts by increases access to nutritious food and providing nutrition education to eliminate health risks for those experiencing food insecurity.
The HCC Foundation will be used to keep the Pathfinder Food Pantry stocked, as officials have seen a significant increase in visits to that food pantry over the past few months. Executive Director Rena Young says this donation came at the perfect time.
