Hopkinsville man charged with assault in Fort Campbell Boulevard attack

A Hopkinsville man is facing an assault charge after he reportedly attacked his daughter in the area of Ollie’s on Fort Campbell Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.

According to the report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers responded to the business where a victim had run into the store to escape her father, 50-year-old Julian Bell, who she reported was assaulting her.

The victim told officers that she had left a nearby residence when Bell became upset and assaulted her there, and she fled towards the back lot of the strip that Ollie’s is in on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

That’s where video surveillance shows Bell chasing after the victim and catching her, and then allegedly pushing her to the ground and physically assaulting her multiple times in the stomach area.  He also reportedly attempted to stomp her head into the concrete. Video reportedly shows him picking her up and throwing her, hitting the concrete.

The victim was able to escape him and make contact with nearby employees. The report states she suffered multiple injuries to her face and head, including her mouth and eyes.

Bell was located a short time later and taken into custody. He is charged with second-degree assault, domestic violence.
