First United Methodist invites community to upcoming classical music concerts

Hopkinsville First United Methodist Church is bringing a one-of-a-kind set of musical performances to Hopkinsville and they’re inviting the community to attend.

First up, this coming Sunday start at 9 a.m. for their traditional service, the community can enjoy a Christmas concert with the FUMC Choir, led by musical director Heejung Park, where he’s bringing in artists and performing all the way from Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan opera. People can come and enjoy, get into the Christmas service, and enjoy the service with the church on Sunday.

And then come Monday night, starting at 6:30 p.m., it’ll be a performance worthy of the biggest cities, with the FUMC Choir and Orchestra, where they’ll perform a mix of popular music, paired with classic music. Attendees will hear performances by Tenor Jonghyun Park, Metropolitan Opera Soprano Sorae Kim, and of course, Conductor and Composer Heejung Park himself.

This is a free event to attend, offering the community a chance to witness the musical arts in a way they may not have before.

First United Methodist Church is located at 1305 South Main Street in Hopkinsville and you can find more information on the church’s Facebook page.
