The Hopkinsville High School girls’ wrestlers took part in a tournament in Russellville on Saturday.
Trinitee Lopez finished 3-2 on the day and finished third place in the 185-pound division.
The Lady Tigers’ Rheanna Walker had four pins and went 4-1 on the day to take third place in the 120-pound division.
Hoptown’s A’Niya Groves also finished second place in the 235-pound division with a 1-1 record.
Isabell Walker went 2-2 with two first-period pins in the 120-pound division and Emma DeArmond had one pin in the 126-pound division.
“I feel today was a really good start to the season,” Head Coach Dison Myers said. “Almost everyone got at least one win and the girls who didn’t get any wins still wrestled very tough. Some of the highlights were Trinitee winning three straight by pin to get into the third-place match and Rheanna having four pins. It was overall a great day and the girls showed a lot of promise moving forward into the rest of the season.”
