The Christian County High School girls’ wrestlers took part in a tournament in Russellville on Saturday.
The Lady Colonels’ Avah Miller went 4-1 and finished third in the 185-pound division. Miller defeated Hoptown’s Trinitee Lopez in the third-place match as Lopez finished 3-2 on the day.
Christian County’s DeNaejahi Allen took second place in the 107-pound division with a 2-1 record.
The Lady Colonels’ Aaliyah Henderson finished fourth in the 235-pound class.
Rhyn Trahan had a pin in the 126-pound division.
Kira Caldwell had a pin in the 185-pound division.
“I feel today was a really good start to the season,” Head Coach Dison Myers said. “Some of the big highlights were De’Naejahi coming out and getting two pins with one being against the No. 1 seed and Avah having four first-period pins. It was a great day and the girls showed a lot of promise moving forward into the rest of the season.”
