The Christian County Colonels’ wrestling team opened its final season in history with a preseason scrimmage against Clarksville Kenwood on Tuesday morning in Lyle Dunbar Gym.
The two teams competed for about two hours with both teams giving their wrestlers several matches.
The Colonels will open their season Dec. 6 at the Coyote Classic Wrestling Invitational at West Creek, Tenn., before competing in the prestigious King of the Bluegrass Tournament Dec. 13 at Louisville Fairdale.
Christian County and Hopkinsville high schools will consolidate to make the Christian County Tigers in 2026.
