Adrian Tucker’s family provides victim impact statements in court

Jaden Johnson entered a guilty plea in October for being involved in a car crash that killed Adrian Tucker in 2023. On Friday, Tucker’s family provided victim impact statements and shared how his death continues to impact them.

The wreck occurred on Bill Bryan Boulevard and Hopkinsville Police reportedly that Johnson had been driving around 90 mph in a 35-mph speed zone. Tucker was pronounced deceased at the scene and two others were also injured in the crash.

For second-degree manslaughter, Johnson received a five-year sentence.

In court, Tucker’s mother says her son was loved by many and the pain Johnson has caused her is indescribable. She calls Johnson’s behavior and actions a danger to the community.

Tucker’s mother also asked the court to consider the impact that Johnson has had on her and her family. She says Tucker had goals and plans of going back to college for his master’s degree.

Tucker’s aunt says Tucker was more like a son to her, then a nephew. She says she has been struggling to forgive Johnson because he has not shown regret for his actions.

The final victim impact statement came from Tucker’s long-term girlfriend Jessica and her daughter, and it was read by another person on her behalf. Jessica shared that before the wreck, her and Tucker had plans to go on vacation and elope and that was supposed to be the beginning of the rest of their lives.

The victim impact statements are now a part of Johnson’s case record and will be provided to the parole board.
