A woman is facing numerous charges after she allegedly abandoned her child and was involved in a vehicular accident in Princeton.
According to the Princeton Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of West Main Street in Princeton for reports that 40-year-old Jennifer Day had allegedly left her one-year-old in the backyard and drove away in a vehicle.
While attempting to locate her, officers were notified of a crash in the 100 block of West Main, and arrived to find Day, who had reportedly struck a parked vehicle with her own. She was allegedly under the influence and taken into custody.
She’s charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-offense DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a prescription-controlled substance not in a proper container and possession of marijuana.
The child was taken into protective custody by social services.
