Fowler files to run for Todd Co. Clerk, O’Bryan announces retirement

After eight years at the helm of the Todd County Clerk’s Office, County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan has announced her intent to retire and not seek another term in that office.

In an announcement to social media Wednesday—which also happened to be the first day folks intending to run for office could file their paperwork to do so—O’Bryan says she intends to retire at the end of her current term, which will be January 1 of 2027.

She says she’s had the honor to serve under Todd County Clerks Billy Fowler, Kim Chapman Kemp and Leslie Cunningham, with nearly 28 years at the office, with eight of those serving as the Todd County Clerk.

She says, “Your support through Covid, a new MVL system, and other changes and updates has been so appreciated. As always, a shout out to my deputies for they are the Frontline of the clerk’s office.”

On the heels of that announcement, Amanda Fowler announced that she will run to be Todd County’s next Clerk.  With more than 10 years of experience under her belt, including serving alongside O’Bryan, Fowler says she has the foundation of experience and strength to guide her in that office.
