One killed, others injured in Lovers’ Lane collision

One person died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision on Lovers’ Lane Friday night, and another was badly injured.

It happened near Romeo Drive and Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Payton Rogers tells WHOP News that it was near the bridge on Lovers Lane when one vehicle was pulled over along the side of the road while one of the victims was outside of the vehicle, checking the mail. That’s when that car was struck by another vehicle from behind, and the man checking the mail was also struck.

He was rushed to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with CPR in progress, but would later be pronounced deceased. He has been identified by Christian County Deputy Coroner Tim Fleming as 77-year-old William “Ide” Bouldin.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of injuries. A third patient on scene was assessed by EMS at the scene.
